Has anyone seen a movie recently that has good fighting of any kind in it?

well, let's define good
1) tells the story and looks pretty, and is well done
2) tells the story and is somewhat realistic, and still looks pretty
3) tells the story and is mostly realistic

Recently re-watched "History of Violence" and it falls into #3 ... fairly realistic, and not pretty at all.

The latest Batman flick I'd put in #1 ... it looses realism because the bad guys were "compliant", but the moves themselves looked beleiveable.

For a very realistic movie, Ridley Scott's "The Duellists" is fantastic ... but non-sword geeks find it boring as heck.

I totally recommend "Blackbeard" with the guy that played Robert The Bruce in Braveheart. Unfortunately he is about 30 pounds heavier and keeps his shirt off way to often in the movie. However the cutlass fight scenes are about as real as they can get. No gratuitous spins...etc. Shoving, punching in the face with the guard, falling and being immediately attacked...and more....Hell...it looks like a live steel fight!!!!

Check out this trailer to a new movie coming out soon, Reclaiming The Blade. It is narrated by John Rhys-Davies and stars all the great swordsmen from film and from the current Rennaisance of WMA.
